President Ron Patten, KG6HSQ, called the meeting to order at 1502 hrs.

The pledge of allegiance was conducted by Ron, KG6HSQ.

Ron, KG6HSQ, reported that burn permits were stopped at the beginning of May.

Ron, KG6HSQ, presented pictures from last month’s Avocado Festival. We received a “Thank You” from the Fallbrook Chamber of Commerce. Ron opened it up to the group for comments from those who participated.

Ron, KG6HSQ, reported that the San Diego Sheriff’s Office has a new non-emergency number: 858-868-3200.

Brent, KJ6UMY, gave a presentation on the changes to the 60 meter band.

Ron, KG6HSQ, reminded us that the FARC repeater takes priority on the Broadcastify feed. During emergencies, our repeater traffic can mask Calfire broadcasts. Amateurs should limit repeater traffic to essential information only, and use other sources such as Pulse Point and Watch Duty, for details.

Ron, KG6HSQ, reminded us that Watch Duty has multiple subscription levels that provide additional information, such as aircraft traffic.

John, AC7GK, asked a question about interference on the UHF band. This is a dual use band with the military on which we are the secondary user. The 2m band can be used on our linked repeaters, when interference is a problem The UHF band works better with the short antennas on HT’s.

Wayne, KK6BYR, commented on the difficulty of navigating the FCC system for license renewal.

President Ron Patten, KG6HSQ, adjourned that meeting at 1622 hrs.
