Meeting Minutes

Fallbrook Amateur Radio Club
Roy Noon Meeting Hall, Fallbrook, California
August 2, 2025

President Ron Patten, KG6HSQ, called the meeting to order at 1503 hrs.

The pledge of allegiance was conducted by Ron, KG6HSQ.

Ron, KG6HSQ, expressed his thanks to Hayden for hosting the club meeting and providing
excellent beef brisket and rolls for sandwiches. Other members supplied snacks, side dishes and
desserts.

Ron, KG6HSQ, that San Diego County Fire now has a full time water tender stationed at Miller
Station. The modern vehicle looks like a standard Type 1 and includes a portable water tank for
use by helicopters. There is now a contract CH-47D Chinook stationed at Fallbrook Air Park
along with its supporting vehicles. With night vision capability, the CH-47 is on standby from
1500-0300 hours, so you will not find it responding to some daylight incidents. The Ramona
airport is working on the tarmac and a new retardant mix plant to support a C-130 stationed
there. Aircraft stationed there will be fully loaded, but will have to reload at Brown Field.

Our P.O. Box annual fee of $192 was just paid. Hayden will be submitting expenses from Field
Day. Ron has pending expenses for website support.

Brent, KJ6UMY, mentioned that there is a satellite company is attempting to take a large portion
of the ham 440 band for telemetry. FCC is still open for comments on this topic.

Ron, KG6HSQ, showed pictures of the contract CH-47 fire fighting helicopter now stationed at
the Fallbrook Airpark.

President Ron Patten, KG6HSQ, adjourned that meeting at 1513 hrs.
