Video from a distance shows the moment of helicopter/tower (or guy wire) impact in the Houston area and we see one blinking tower light operating. It seems from this video that there were no weather-related visibility concerns but the weather at the time of impact remains an important question that will undoubtedly be reviewed.

President Ron Patten, KG6HSQ, called the meeting to order at 1500 hrs.

The pledge of allegiance was conducted by Ron, KG6HSQ.

Ron, KG6HSQ, reported that the Stripe payment portal on the FARC website has a problem. He also reported that Echolink on Red Mountain is down.

Ron, KG6HSQ, reviewed upcoming events:
October 12th – Fire Department Open House. FARC will have a table in the vehicle bay.
October 20th – Fallbrook Harvest Faire. We are taking sign-ups to work that event.
November 11th – Veteran’s Day Parade

Stephen, KC6MIE, reported that there will be an ARES Hospital Drill on Thursday, October
24th. HF check-ins will be possible on 3.924, 7.204 and 60m Ch 1 or Ch 2 if Ch1 is busy.

Frederick, KN6IDK, reminded us that there is a Fallbrook Gem and Mineral Society event on October 12th in the parking lot behind the library.

Paul Victor, KO6GCO, is a new ham with a Technician license.

John Landry, a USS Midway Docent from the Speakers Bureau, returned for his third speaking engagement at a FARC meeting. This presentation was a detailed look at the Cuban Missile Crisis.

President Ron Patten, KG6HSQ, adjourned that meeting at 1731 hrs.
