President Ron Patten, KG6HSQ, called the meeting to order at 1502 hrs.

The pledge of allegiance was conducted by Ron, KG6HSQ.

Ron, KG6HSQ, reminded members to check their spam filter if they are not receiving club emails. Also they must accept the invitation to join the email lists.

Ron, KG6HSQ, introduced the new FARC-Talk email list. Generating or responding to an email on this list allows you to send an email to all FARC users on the list without needing individual addresses.

Ron, KG6HSQ, reported that the repeater’s 440 receiver was offline on last Monday due to power switching associated with the weekly generator test. This required a manual power reset on the mountain by Ron. An investigation will be made into the reset circuitry to eliminate the problem.

Ron, KG6HSQ, reminded repeater users to always identify when keying up.

Ron, KG6HSQ, reported that Dreamhost, our web hosting service, has reconfigured its servers and the performance of the FARC website is much improved.

Ron, KG6HSQ, pointed to new features on the members list posted on the FARC website.
Columns on the list show whether the member is signed up for the mailing list and is a member of ARES. Ron will add a column for to indicate members signed up for FARC Talk.

Ron, KG6HSQ, reported that sign-ups for the Avocado Festival are ahead of schedule with 390
sign-up for 455 booths as of a month ago. The next organizer’s meeting is next week. Hams wishing to sign up to work the Festival should email Ron.

Ron, KG6HSQ, updated us on his local RFI problem. SDGE has visited to assess the problem and is submitting a work order. The SDGE rep indicated that they found the FARC Broadcastify feed valuable during fires.

Brent, KJ6UMY, gave a presentation on Transmission Lines. Bob, W6VR, provided insight into several practical transmission lines used by radio stations and how they deal with the VSWR created by changes in direction.

President Ron Patten, KG6HSQ, adjourned that meeting at 1555 hrs.
