Are PV Optimizers Worth the Money (e.g. SolarEdge)?

They make a good point. If you don’t have a skinny tree shadow moving across your solar array then definitely not worth it. Solar panels have bypass diodes (1 for each of the 3 rows) that compensate for shading so even with a shadow problem I think it would drop 1.5v of the array voltage across the shadowed panel. The Solar Edge optimizers are notoriously RF noisy. My Enphase inverters are RF quiet and I like the ability to switch 1 panel into a charge controller for the battery.
